How It Works

Limitations and independence

Is My Card Centered? is an independent card-inspection and grading-risk aid. It is not affiliated with PSA, BGS, TAG, CGC, card manufacturers, marketplaces, or official grading companies. The tools are intended to help collectors review photos more consistently before they submit, buy, sell, or hold a card.

Inspection results are informational

Centering measurements, Pre-Screen notes, AI-assisted Card Review results, and Gem Finder population context are informational only. They are not official grades, authentication results, appraisals, or guarantees. Final grading outcomes can depend on many factors outside a photo workflow, including in-hand review, surface texture, manufacturing variation, hidden dents, altered cards, grader standards, and current company procedures.

Photo quality affects every tool

A clean photo can make a borderline card easier to evaluate. A poor photo can make a good card look worse or hide a flaw that matters. Glare, sleeves, slabs, top loaders, dust, background edges, camera tilt, low resolution, and aggressive compression can all change what the tools can detect or measure.

When the photo is uncertain, treat the result as a prompt for closer inspection rather than a conclusion.

High-level data handling

The Centering and guided Pre-Screen workflows process uploaded photos in the browser for the inspection experience. Completed Centering checks may save privacy-safe measurement metadata, such as image dimensions, guide positions, detection confidence, feature use, and ratios. Those Centering logs are metadata-only and do not include uploaded card images, filenames, card names, account identifiers, or persistent user identifiers.

Card Review is different: when you choose to use the AI-assisted review workflow, submitted card images and related review details may be stored so the review can be processed, reopened, audited, improved, and troubleshot. The Privacy Policy explains this distinction in more detail.

Best use of the site

Use the Centering tool for ratio measurements, Pre-Screen for a structured photo walkthrough, Card Review for deeper AI-assisted review, and Learning Center guides to understand the limits behind the outputs. Combine those results with hands-on inspection and current instructions from your chosen grading company.
